Executives Donated to GOP After Ohio Award Winners
An Associated Press review found executives from 10 of 17 manufacturing firms with workers honored by Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel donated to Republican candidates including Mandel. Recipients are mostly Democrats or independents, with many in pro-Democratic unions. Mandel’s campaign received donations from three firms soon after awards. One executive said the contribution was solicited. Mandel defends the Ohio Strong Award as nonpartisan despite political giving.
