Employees steal from child abuse nonprofit
A Washington based nonprofit aiding child sexual abuse victims was defrauded in a payroll scam by three internal staffers. Former CFO Marvin Perry and two subordinates stole over $50,000, with Michael Young confessing to nearly $10,000 in extra pay checks. Perry plans to plead guilty June 11. Sharon Martin has already pleaded guilty for over $15,000. Huizar, the executive director, ordered an audit after taking over in 2008.

California budget plan would close 220 parks
California faces up to 220 state park closures under Schwarzenegger’s budget.
