International Multifoods expands Elyria plant with 15 million investment
International Multifoods on South Gateway Boulevard will add an ingredient storage tower and new processing and packaging equipment to the Elyria plant, a project costing about 15 million dollars. The expansion aims to support Pillsbury baking mixes for the food service industry and nearly double local employment from 23 to about 45 by year end.

Tariffs curb April imports as U S steel seeks rebound
In April the United States imported 1.7 million tons of steel, including 1.2 million on the tariff list, a decline from March and February. The first full month of three year tariffs up to 30 percent aims to slow low priced foreign shipments that critics say harmed Ohio plants and helped bankrupt firms like LTV Corp. Industry officials stress the full effect will show later as orders are booked months in advance, while lawmakers press for pension and health care support for laid off workers.

Market Drops Again As Halliburton Probe Shocks Wall Street
Stocks fell for a third straight session on Wednesday as concerns over Halliburton accounting and a cautious earnings outlook weighed on sentiment. The Dow slid 58.54 to 9923.04, the Nasdaq dropped 27.78 to 1624.39, and the S&P 500 slipped 6.89 to 1067.66 amid thin volume and doubts about the pace of a market recovery.
