Federal investigators say Doctors Clinic serves as a distribution center for controlled drugs. A search warrant affidavit filed by the DEA cites a medical expert who states Dr. Leonard Faymore and his clients lack a valid doctor patient relationship.
Bay Village singer Rocco Scotti has petitions about 180 feet long with over 1 000 signatures from Tennyson and Forestlawn students urging baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn to have Scotti perform the Star Spangled Banner at the July 14 Cleveland All-Star Game. Other petitions flood Kuhn's office as locals push to spotlight a celebrity. Scotti says many stars sing it poorly and treat it as casual. Will Kuhn bow to the demand.
Former local basketball star Jeff Solomon, 24, of Avon, was indicted for possession with intent to distribute nearly two kilograms of cocaine seized from his car trunk after an alleged tip. He pled not guilty and was released on a $50,000 bond. the case marks his second federal narcotics arrest in five years.

Lorain County Community College trustees voted 5-3 to end intercollegiate sports on June 30 and replace the program with expanded recreation and intramural activities. The decision follows months of debate with support from Dean Richard Mellett and opposition from Health and Physical Education faculty and student athletes.
Elyria High School band director Wilson Murray will serve as assistant band director for the Ohio State University marching band during the 1981-82 school year. Murray will take a leave of absence from Elyria Schools and pursue further studies at OSU. The Elyria school board approved the leave Wednesday night. Murray, a 1965 Elyria HS graduate, has led the EHS band since the early 1970s and helped build its statewide reputation. Assistant EHS band director Eugene Eckenfels resigned for health reasons. The district seeks a one-year replacement for Murray.
