World hitchhiker nears bet finish after 3600 miles left

Greenville South Carolina reports George OBrien the 42 year old caddy aims to complete a 3600 mile hitchhiked leg of his around the world trip by June to claim a 3006 dollar bet. He has logged 65000 miles so far and started from California three years ago. A separate note from Perry New York describes a Christmas card mailed from Bangor Maine that traveled halfway around the world before reaching Port Rich Perry.
