Two separate canoe incidents on the Black River left two youths stranded on islands and a father and son capsized nearby. Elyria firefighters used a two man raft to reach and rescue the youths near Berkley Drive while Lorain County deputies aided a late rescue of Mervyn Kenyon and his son Dale after their canoe hit a tree. Both groups were treated for exposure and were unharmed.
