Amherst babysitter indicted in death of 5 month old

A county grand jury charged Melissa Dovala 32 with murder felonious assault endangering children and involuntary manslaughter in the February 6 beating death of Riley Harris Smith. Riley died after being beaten at Dovala s Westchester Drive home. Authorities say Dovala cared for the child at the time and the mother rushed him to Amherst Hospital.
