Parade marks American Day with veterans march to cemetery
A large parade through the streets leads to cemetery graveside ceremonies honoring Spanish American War World War I and Civil War veterans. The 9 a.m. march assembles divisions of veterans, city officials, schoolchildren, and societies on Broadway and Elyria avenue, ending with flowers cast on the river and a Washington Park program featuring Comrade George Groot.

G A R Memorial Services on Sunday
In Lorain the regular Memorial service of the Grand Army will be held Sunday May 29 at the Church of the Redeemer. Veterans groups meet at the Veterans hall at 10 am and march in a body to the church. Rev Dr R H Fortesque Gairdner will preach and the choir will present sacred and patriotic music.
Funeral for Mrs. Lena Burkhardt Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Burkhardt, who died in St. Josephs hospital, will be held at St Marys R C church Saturday morning at 8 30. The Rev Father J J Johnston will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under the supervision of Felchian Reidy and Scanlon funeral directors.
