State Highway Patrol plans a maximum staffing level during Memorial Day weekend. Superintendent Chiaramonte says all officers except vacationing personnel will be on duty to keep traffic flowing, assist motorists, and enforce safety rules.

Paul J Kopseh Turner 78 of Lorain was found dead at 2:45 PM near his home. The coroner ruled death from natural causes related to health issues. Turner, a World War II veteran, worked at Freuhauf Corp. for 12 years and is survived by two daughters, five grandchildren, three sisters, and a brother. Funeral services by Reichlin Cooley Funeral Home planned for this evening.

The crash occurred near Leavitt Rd and Eastman Dr.

Vermilion police report a break-in at the Lemon Tree Lounge on 411 Main St after closing at 2 30 am Tuesday. Thieves forced a window after splitting a rear porch screen and took 317 dollars in cash. Police Chief Harry Lechner identified the entry method.

The Bay Bridge Post of the State Highway Patrol moved yesterday from its Sandusky Bay shoreline post to a larger, more convenient building on Fremont Road inside Sandusky city limits. The old site served nearly twenty years. the new facility sits just north of the Route 2 bypass.
