Five Men Die in Cranberry Bog Fire Traps
A forest fire in southern New Jersey burned five men to death and scorched 60,000 acres of cranberry bog and timber land. Two thousand volunteers battled the flames for 24 hours, with several smaller fires smouldering along a 10 mile front. The worst blaze lay between Tuckerton and Chatsworth, trapping a CCM workers group and other firefighters as it peaked just before midnight Saturday.

Relief Offices Being Moved to New Lorain Headquarters
