Last minute gardening tips for Ohio spring plans

Ohio State extension specialist Victor Ries warns that spring gardening time for shrubs, trees, and lawns is over and plans must wait until next season. Planting annuals and perennials now can still yield blooms this year or next, with gladioli viable if planted in 10 to 14 day intervals through July 1 for continuous bloom to frost. Tulips, dwarf iris, and other perennials will begin blooming in early May, providing options for next spring and fall use.
