Cyclone Mekunu Rakes Socotra Heads for Oman
Mekunu battered Socotra sending floods and mud slides as two Indian cargo ships went missing and at least 17 people were reported missing. The cyclone, with 96 mph sustained winds and 109 mph gusts, was forecast to strike Oman near Salalah, amid regional tension over Socotra’s status and aid needs.
