Inflation May Push U S Steel Prices Up Seven Percent
U S Steel Chairman Edgar B Speer warned the Carter administration that without halting inflation the steel industry will need to raise prices at least 7 percent this year. He said labor government and private sector must all commit to curbing inflation and noted the 8 percent inflation scenario implies a minimum 7 percent price increase to cover higher costs.

Oklahoma-Texas seek 2 escapee "thrill killers"
About 100 officers searched the Oklahoma-Texas border for two prison escapees described as thrill killers. Claude Eugene Dennis, 35, and Michael Lancaster, 25, fled from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary on April 23 and were linked to four killings across Texas and Alabama, plus a police shooting and a trooper shotgun assault. A stolen Alabama-station wagon tied to a victim was found abandoned near Lake Texoma.
