Bound Over To Grand Jury In Manslaughter Case
Theodore Pitter of 557 Irondale Street was bound over to the grand jury in a second degree manslaughter case after a hearing before Justice of the Peace Richard Baird. The crash that led to the charge killed Mrs Minnie Schramm at Schramm and Murray Ridge roads on Monday. Pitter said brakes failed and he could not stop the car.

Five motorists were fined after being arraigned before Mayor A Ro Agate for reckless driving following a mid afternoon accident at Lodi and Furnace streets. Wilford Jamie of Amherst was fined ten dollars and costs for reckless driving. Other drivers, including Mrs. Sanar of Craft Road, and Frank Sellers of Cleveland, faced fines ranging from five to ten dollars plus costs. George Sprouse aged 43 received a life term in the State penitentiary for stealing a $60 wrist watch and 79 cents from Parkersburg Jurik Co offices last September. He confessed before Judge David F. Turner in Weed County Circuit Court and was sentenced under Virginia habitual criminal statues.
