Child of six faces court over manslaughter verdict
In Paintsville Kentucky Carl Mahan six years old stood in court as arguments continued on his fate for shooting Cecil Vans with a shotgun during a quarrel over scrap iron. A jury had found him guilty of manslaughter, and his defense seeks to set aside the sentence, arguing Kentucky lacks a reform school law for under ten.
