School board OKs raises in South Amherst
SOUTH AMHERST The South Amherst Board of Education approved about 4 percent raises for 13 hourly workers and eight administrators. Teachers had previously received 4 percent raises after tense talks with the teachers union. Superintendent Lawrence Fallon noted no negotiations with hourly workers due to a missed proposal deadline. Fallon will meet with non-certified staff about new rules and benefits. Fallon's salary rises to 34,000 dollars.

Elyria Lorain County Community College is among three schools chosen by the Board of Regents to run a 12 week summer program for about 300 unemployed adults.
