James Kennelly a three year old resident of Elywia is killed when struck by a car on Eytrap Road near Kennelly's home. The driver fled leaving Kennelly injured and the horse killed as bystanders rushed the victim to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Police seek the unnamed driver amid reports of a lack of concern.

Canoe Capsize on Miami River Yields Drowning Death

In Cleves on the Miami River, dynamite was used to recover the body of 13 year old David Wehrmeier after his canoe capsized. He was the first drowning victim of the year in the area as rescuers searched the river.

Burns Fatal To Aunt Mary Collins In Fire

Mrs. Collins died from burns after a fire in Aunt Marys garden at her home. She passed away at the Bionia Memorial Hospital shortly after being rushed there. A former revolutionary deserter active in North Olmsted, she lived in Divis for over twenty years. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at noon at St. Peter’s Church with interment following at the cemetery.

Weekend traffic injuries in Loram country two hurt

Weekend crashes left two men injured in Loram County. Frank Taylor, 28, Cleveland Heights, born broken right leg after a collision with a car owned by William Gilroz of South Euclid on Cleveland road near Hideeville Heights. William Cunningham, Cleveland, suffered scratches after his car ran off the road, hit a tree, and crashed through a fence. Driver William Haladay, Cleveland, charged with drunken driving. Kriek and Anders charged with intoxication. All pled guilty or not guilty as noted.

City Hires Engineer for New Sewage Plant

George B. Uascoigne sanitary engineer for Cleveland was hired by the city through the service directory to design and oversee construction of the centre disposal plant and works. The service director said plans would take about sixty days and a contract may be set on the fifteenth. The city hopes to acquire about 196 acres at Wich o for total isolation and future growth. A program of site surveys and prospective locations is under way.

Bandits Rob Bank Cash Steals $35,000 in Abullean Heist

Three masked bandits robbed Mrs. Laridia Green bookkeeper and Norman Kristoff messager for the Maywood Trust and Savings Banks stealing $35,000 in cash. They pursued the fleeing car from a second bank on the opposite side of the city and failed to hide the money in the tonneau.

Direct tax bill to become law without governor signature

The Dodd bill imposing a six tenths mill direct tax will become law without Governor Donahey's signature as executive consideration ends at midnight. Sponsored by Martin G. Dodd the tax on the 127 duplicate box is set for one year with revenue split between December and June 2028 and expected to yield about 7.0 to 5.3 million dollars for general state purposes.

Pipe Burial Claims Life of Quarry Worker Clarence Knott

Clarence Knott employed at the Birmingham Ohio quarries was killed when a steam pipe burst at the quarry top and threw him onto rocks. He had worked at the Birmingham quarries briefly and boarded with Mr and Mrs George Bickle of Birmingham. His body is held at Amherst funeral parlor awaiting relatives.

Ashland Car Crash Injures Woman at Birmingham Hill

Five men and a woman were riding in a car that overturned on the Birmingham hill around ten last night. Mrs Helen Kelly is hospitalized with two fractured ribs and a broken shoulder blade. Cline charged with murder of Irwin in hospital

Leonard Cline author and playwright was served with a warrant in St Joseph's hospital, Mansfield, for the murder of Wilfred Irwin. Irwin was shot at Chafer's home where he was a guest last Monday while Cline donated blood in an attempted lifesaving transfusion that failed. Irwin died Monday night after a week in St Joseph's hospital. State Policeman Hurt Carr served the warrant. Cline to be arraigned in Mansfield town court before Justice Geo H Andrew.

De Pinedo completes leg toward Azores in four-continent flight

Col Francesco de Pinedo lifted off from Newfoundland at 2258 a.m. for the Azores on the last leg of his Atlantic crossing. He lightened the plane by 400 pounds by discarding the wireless gear, leaving it without communication during the night.
