Oberlin Memoir Marks 14th Anniversary of Anti-Saldon League
Oberlin May 23 Eleven members of the Oberlin Alliance gathered in Spear Laboratory to form the first non partisan temperance movement. The group pledged to raise 500 dollars toward a salary for Rev. Howard R. Russell, leader of the new organization, with Mr. Root and Mr. A G Comings as the only present attendees from Oberlin.
