Brown recluse spiders found in Monroeville home

A Monroeville family uncovered a 21 spider colony in one home, the first confirmed brown recluse sighting in Ohio. Spiders lived there 3 to 11 years with no bites. The discovery prompted state health officials and an exterminator to intervene and display a specimen at a home show.

Tragic fishing trip ends with Oberlin man drowning near Vermilion

William Kimber 52, of Oberlin fell from a small boat offshore from Shore Acre on West Lake Road and drowned after a wave knocked him out. Aquilino Morales 51, Lorain, was rescued and treated in fair condition. Morales and Kimber were fishing with Morales aboard. a Coast Guard search was halted by bad weather. Willard, a Vermilion High School teacher, rescued Morales and aided him to shore. Kimber's body was recovered on Coen Road Beach at 8:15 am.

Tragic fishing accident ends in two in boat

Aquino Morales recalls the fatal moment when his friend William Kimber fell overboard as their small boat toppled in shallow rocky lake water at Vermilion Sunday Beach. Morales, 51, swam to shore after freeing himself from heavy clothing and lifelines, aided by Ronald Willard. Kimber, 60, did not survive the incident.

Dr Philip Blaiberg Condition Update at Groote Schuur

CAPE TOWN AP Groote Schuur Hospital released a guarded report on the condition of Dr Philip Blaiberg the longest surviving heart transplant patient. The statement says his condition varies daily but remains under control with intensive care. Blaiberg was admitted on a stretcher last Friday and the cause of the setback has not been disclosed.
