Muhlenberg to Be Honored With Congressional Monument
Washington May 22 congress may erect a monument to Rev Major General Peter Muhlenberg, a noted Revolutionary War figure. The plan, pushed by Rep Bulwinkle, would place a statue in a park on upper Connecticut Avenue. Muhlenberg rose from minister to colonel of the German Virginia Regiment and later major general, renowned for his dramatic church sermon before recruitment.
