Elyria firm May Move to North Ridgeville Abatement Offered

North Ridgeville advances tax relief for Rhenium Alloys Inc as it plans a 66,000 square foot expansion on Taylor Wood Parkway with a 15 year abatement on renovations. The move shifts 50 jobs with 25 more projected in three years and boosts local taxes by about 495 thousand dollars. The Ohio Tax Credit Authority backs a six year 45800 dollar state job creation credit for the 25 new positions.

FDA approves new HIV drug Edurant from Johnson & Johnson

The FDA approved a once daily HIV treatment Edurant for patients new to therapy. The pill blocks viral replication and showed comparable efficacy to Sustiva in a 1368 patient trial with 83 percent achieving undetectable viral load at 48 weeks. Common side effects include low mood sleep trouble headache and rash. Edurant is made by Tibotec Therapeutics a division of Johnson and Johnson Ortho Biotech.
