Memorial Day Parades and Services Across Avon Lake Area
A chaotic schedule lists multiple Memorial Day activities in Avon Lake and surrounding towns. Parades form in early morning with starts ranging from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at various locations including North Ridgeville, Columbia Middle School, 18th Street and Broadway, and Ranger Stadium. Services follow, featuring 21-gun salutes, wreath placements, flag ceremonies, and community meals. We note participation by VFW Post 9871, Lions Club, Wakeman American Legion, and local churches with speakers and honors for veterans. Proceeds from a chicken barbecue fund church steeple restoration.
