Catherine A. Ruby 93 of Elyria died May 19 2008 at home. Born November 10 1914 she graduated Alliance High School 1933 Kent State University 1938 with a bachelor in elementary education. Survived by daughter Jill Braun two granddaughters one great grandson and preceded in death by husband Harold C. Ruby. Burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township with Dicken Funeral Home handling arrangements.
James F Corky Anadell 57 of Grove City died Friday May 16 2008 at home He was born June 23 1950 in Harlan Kentucky and lived in Lorain as a youth He played football and ran track at Firelands High School Wooster College and Lorain Bulldogs later earning degrees from Lorain County Community College Troy State and Case Western Reserve He served in the US Army and worked as an administrator of Prison Legal Systems retired from Ohio State Public defender He is survived by his wife Elaine his mother Nancy Anadell sisters Linda Vincent Alice York brothers Donald and Steven Anadell and was preceded by his father James W Anadell A private gathering will be held cremation by Spence Miller Funeral Home in Grove City with a private family ceremony

Police charged George Watkins a 40 year old Grove City man with vehicular homicide in the crossing guard Dianna Sharp death and injuries to an 8 year old boy near Scioto Darby Elementary. Watkins faces up to six months in jail and a 1000 dollar fine plus possible vehicular manslaughter and pedestrian yield counts. The incident occurred in a 20 mph school zone with the truck at about 24 mph. Watkins will plead not guilty at May 29 arraignment in Franklin County Municipal Court.
