Dogs share wolf roots with diverse breeds study finds
The Associated Press reports that dogs split from wolves early, forming three major clusters hunter, herder and guard dogs. Siberian Husky, Chinese Sharpei and African Basenji are closest to wild ancestors. two breeds long thought ancient, Hound and Pharaoh, are not as old as believed.
