Ohio bill seeks single license plate on rear bumper
State representatives Terry Johnson and Stephen Slesnick propose a bill to require only one license plate on the rear of vehicles in Ohio. The plan could save the state over 1 million dollars annually and reduce costs for owners of cars not built for front plates. Opponents, including some law enforcement officers, argue front plates aid crime reporting and vehicle identification, while supporters say dual plates do not deter crime. The measure notes neighboring states Pennsylvania Kentucky West Virginia Indiana.
