Nursing administrator Carol Eady dies at 84 in Elyria
Carol Murphy Eady 84 nursing administrator and longtime nurse leader died Sunday at Elyria United Methodist Village where she had resided since 1994. Born in Cleveland she trained at St Luke's and Baldwin Wallace College and earned a master’s in nursing school administration from Case Western Reserve. She held posts at Samaritan Hospital Seneai of Nursing Troy New York Elyria Memorial Mount Sinai Michael Reese and the AMA and served as director of the Office of Related Health Professions. She was active in the National League for Nursing and other nursing groups receiving multiple honors including the 1994 St Luke's alumna award. A memorial service is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church Elyria. Burial at Knollwood Cemetery. Dicken Funeral Home handling arrangements.

George Al McKiveen of Avon Lake died Thursday at Grace Hospital Amherst at 78. Born in Pittsburgh he moved to Lorain as a child and graduated Lorain High in 1942. He lived in Avon Lake since 1964 and held chemistry and metallurgy degrees from Antioch College and Case Western Reserve. A former foundry worker, he belonged to Lake Shore United Methodist Church and the Avon Lake American Legion Post 211. He volunteered locally and enjoyed Barbershop music, golf, square dancing and cards. Survived by wife Vera and three sons with four grandchildren and a brother. services at Lake Shore United Methodist Church. Memorials to American Lung Association.
