Affluent couple struggle to make ends meet in budget
Bob and Sally Berger live in a nine room Philadelphia area home with a high lifestyle, yet inflation and a slow economy press their finances. Bob earns 1610 monthly after tax, 70 percent covers fixed costs and housing, utilities and food. They cut back on meals out, preserve quality foods, and thrift on clothes while maintaining a cautious plan for gifts, insulation, and debt. Dr. Robert Kavesh notes the budget is well structured but fears weak income growth. Next: Barely making it on retirement.
