Underground romance in a storm bound clasp gone awry
Brown waits with a reluctant heroine at Coomber House as a planned daring rescue unfolds amid rain thunder and black miles. The girl arranges a covert mission with officials backing, while Brown endures suspense fear and a growing sense of peril as eerie sounds from above hint at unseen dangers. The scene shifts from hopeful scheming to mounting tension and a looming confrontation.
