Pay not competitive expert says State mental hospitals in staff straits
Mrs. Marion Wells executive director of the Ohio Mental Health Association told the Lorain County mental health group last night that Ohio hospitals lack personnel and salaries are not competitive with Pennsylvania Michigan Indiana and Illinois The talk urged lawmakers to raise pay scales and appropriations for mental health staff and facilities. The meeting highlighted the Guidance Center’s services 617 patients treated and 5099 interviews in 1965 and noted regional residents served.

A pig ran loose on Route 234 a quarter mile east of Oberlin Ave at 3 30 am. A vehicle driven by James EK Alexander of 2809 West Erie Ave Lorain struck the animal. The pig was killed and Alexander suffered a right knee injury. ownership of the pig was not determined by deputies.
