Lorain man Charles Brassfield, 30, sentenced to seven years with possible judicial release after five for involuntary manslaughter and child endangering in the 2010 death of Desiree Wade. A jury deadlocked on murder and felonious assault.
An Elyria mother and grandmother face felony charges after an 11 month old tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. Shanice McCall 21 and Roxie McCall 39 were indicted on endangering children counts and obstructing justice and official business. Roxie faces a misdemeanor for permitting drug abuse. The child ingested drugs on February 1 while under Roxie’s care.
A Lorain County Joint Vocational School instructor resigned after a female student alleged an inappropriate incident. The complaint was reported Tuesday and the sheriff is investigating. no charges are confirmed yet.
