Robbery suspect pleads innocent due to insanity
An 18 year old Sheffield Township man Michel Torres-Picart pleaded innocent by reason of insanity to eight counts of aggravated burglary and one count of attempted aggravated burglary. Prosecutors say he and his younger brother and nephew burglarized more than 30 homes in West Lorain. The insanity plea suspends proceedings for a psychiatric evaluation to determine competency.

Falls principal honored after 31 years of service

Man pleads innocent in Lorain gun standoff
Dale F. Danicki, 24, of 2230 Harborview Blvd., pleaded innocent in Lorain Municipal Court to four charges from a gun standoff with Patrolman Albert Rivera. Bond set at 5000 after defense argued charges are misdemeanors. Police say Danicki pointed a 12 gauge shotgun at Rivera during a domestic dispute involving his wife and 4 year old daughter.

Pittsfield Two Bridge to be replaced
Lorain County engineers say the 74 year old Webster Road bridge between Pittsfield and Wellington townships is structurally deficient. Replacement will cost about 183419 dollars, with construction this summer lasting around two months. The new bridge will be 64 feet long and 28 feet wide with a new approach and guardrails, funded by Issue 2 public works money. It spans Wellington Creek, a Black River tributary. A second note: BAY VILLAGE residents are invited to Normandy School for kindergarten orientation on June 5, 1990, from 7 to 8 15 p.m.
