Berlin Heights' Aging Barber Reflects On Town's Changes
Shilton Austin, Berlin Heights oldest barber, recalls arriving in 1512 and 31 years of service. He notes pool tables in 1855 and electric clippers transforming the trade, laments noisy gadgets, and remembers the Green River Run rowdiness versus a quiet shop today. His wife died in 19, sons live in Columbus with engineering and agricultural roles.
