Dillinger Linked to Bremer Kidnapping Case
In Lancaster Wisconsin on May 18 reports linked John Dillinger and his machine gun killers to the $200,000 kidnapping of Edward G. Bremer of St. Paul. Federal agents reportedly found the prison where Bremer was held and identified a derelict mine house near Cuba City as the site. Sheriff Harry Greer said investigators learned Dillinger hid there after battles at Spider Lake, where a federal agent and a civilian were killed and four men wounded.
