Dog pound to be rebuilt with minimal funds
Erie County Commissioners decided to rebuild the Dog Pound at South Columbus Ave with the least outlay of funds after it was partially destroyed by the December 24 1962 fire. Architect Alfred Schnurr Jr said a gable roof would raise costs without adding kennel space and construction will use a flat roof. A new pound will be built at a more suitable future location once plans and specifications are completed.
