City Hall project faces aid cuts and design tweaks
The city plans to cut costs to 10 million with grants for atriums and tower refurbishments. Architects from Clark and Post and Phillips Swager faced travel delays due to bad weather but expect two glass atriums and lighter total square footage. June 5 update expected with models and possible new cost figures. Local residents near Lorain County Regional Airport oppose annexation, citing loss of peace and quiet, urging focus on downtown and industrial park. Mayor Grace says the greater good justifies the project and noise impacts.
