Plan to distribute city revenues across Ohio urged

Gov Thomas J Merbert and officials from Cleveland Cincinnati Dayton and others presented a plan to Senate committees for distributing 24 6 million to local governments this year and 12 million in 1848. The proposal would let political subdivisions avoid a fixed share and allocate funds by need. Mayors and city managers from Columbus and five large cities urged swift action, while Governor Herbert cautioned on workability and suggested presenting to the full General Assembly. The administration backed program would channel about 26 74 million to localities this year and 41 000 800 to 1948 with hearings upcoming.
