Special work of more than 3600 Elyria grade school students will be shown Monday at the Washington Jefferson and Technical buildings of the high school plant. Each pupil will be represented in at least one department, with rooms from all grade schools included. The exhibit marks a shift to separate grade school and high school displays tied to the high school centennial plans.

Two Lorain County seniors placed fourth and another earned an honorable mention in Ohio s statewide district state scholarship contest. Everett Hales of Eaton High school finished fourth in plane geometry among 84 entrants. Janet Chumby of Wellington tied for fourth in ninth year English with 96 competitors. Police blotter reports fifteen transients received a night lodging in the city jail on Thursday night.
Gas wells continue to come in Carlisle fields
Productive wells are being brought in at the Natural gas fields in Carlisle township. A shallow well on the John Hehe brand farm on La Grange road yielded 103 000 cubic feet daily, later dropping to 70 000. Last week a well on the Mrs P K Clark farm produced just over a million cubic feet. Several wells are being drilled in Carlisle fields but no exceptionally large wells have appeared recently.

Father Pleads in Court as Murder Trial Breaks Down
In a Cleveland courtroom Judge W B Thompson adjourned the murder trial of Antonio Drones after the defendant, shattered by emotion, collapsed into hysterics. Dr G E French testified the defendant slept little and sheriff Adams said he feared an outbreak.
