Flood control bill signed by Coolidge
President Coolidge signed the 325 million Mississippi flood control bill to curb the Mississippi River’s flood risks after the 1927 disaster. The measure funds 10 million immediately to start plans by the Mississippi River Commission and a special flood board, with 10-year completion goals and possible further needs.
