City hall debt free after 40 years of bonds
Kansas City reports City Hall now owned by citizens after final payment of 35 000 on four million bonds completed February 1. The project cost about 8 398 500 with a 1 739 000 federal grant and 2 659 502 in interest. 29 story building began December 15 1935 and opened October 1937 using 20 000 cubic feet concrete and 7 800 tons stone.
