Youths Who Slugged Guard Captured At Cleveland
Two of three Lancaster Industrial School trusties who slugged and kidnapped Guard William L Ed wards were captured and jailed awaiting return. Two fatal and serious injuries occurred in Lorain County yesterday afternoon. Jobe Wathorn, 22, of Bowmanville Ontario died after his car struck a Maple tree in South Amherst around 9 p.m. Harold Seagraves, 41, a grocery clerk riding with Wathorn, was ejected and hospitalized. In Oberlin, Eva Diamonds, 29, of Chicago died at Allen Memorial Hospital from injuries after a car hit a concrete abutment on East Lorain Street. Jacob Diamonds, 40, sustained a broken jaw and severe head wound and was hospitalized. District deputy sheriff Charles Lessard investigated the crashes.
