Appeals court upholds order barring more children for nonpayment

The 9th District Court of Appeals affirmed Lorain County Probate Judge James Walther’s order restricting Asim Taylor from having more children until he pays outstanding child support. Judges lacked a pre sentence report to fully assess the legal validity of the restriction. Walther had placed Taylor on probation in January 2013 for nearly $100,000 owed for four children. He said the ruling signals authority to impose similar limits in future non support cases.
