Vitamins May Help Cut Osteoporosis Through B Folate
Two major studies report that high B vitamin and folate levels may lower osteoporosis risk by reducing homocysteine. A U.S. study links high homocysteine to nearly quadruple fracture risk in men and almost double in women, while a Dutch study finds doubled risk for top quartile levels. The findings support multivitamin use and bread fortification begun in 1998.
