Forty four contestants vie for top honors in the 22nd annual statewide scholarship program of the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives. Among the competitors from two area high schools are Forest Wandel Sullivan and Dianne Kosteki Spencer entered by Lorain Medina Rural Electric Co Op. Top awards of 1000 dollars for each division go to the winning boy and girl with 500 second place 300 third 200 fourth. Awards to be given at a banquet this evening at Scot's Inn Columbus. Brownhelm Perfection Club members cleaned roadsides and enjoyed a Weiner roast while Chris and Cara Dean led creative arts demonstrations. Dorothy Culder was named junior leader historian and Junior Fair Board representative. Lorain County 4-H camps planned for Kelleys Island July 11–15 for ages 9–12 and July 22–25 for ages 13–15. Camp staff includes a lifeguard cooks camp manager naturalist nurse and counselors. Four new Merry Maids joined Clarksfield. pot luck dinner for mothers at Community Hall in Clarksfield tonight at 6. Stems and Fluffs Club added four members. they will visit a farm to observe animal care. Jeff Sandrock elected Camden Green Clovers president with officers listed. Shawnees showed 4-H program movies. bake sale yielded $45 and a car wash is planned. Slides at Columbia Dog-Gone-sis meeting featured Mrs Whitesel and Mrs Daugherty as advisors. surprise dog checks will be conducted periodically.
