Expanded Elyria school board proposal not dead yet
Expansion from five to seven members remains under discussion with no conclusive feeling on its impact. Joan Lees, chair of a Citizens Task Force subcommittee, says the status favors the proposal overall but notes uncertain effects on minority representation and administration. No group has filed petition signatures to place it on the ballot. The board cannot place its own expansion on the ballot by law.
