Local officials wrestle with appointing a county recorder after discovering a deputy had long served without proper authority. The commission seeks legal guidance and may refer the matter to the prosecutor before any appointment.
Dean Avidson and Kolopos were arrested at noon on a charge related to a bank transaction. Avidson pleaded before Mayor Jones and was found guilty, fined $5, and bonded for a traffic ordinance violation. Kolopos was fined $30. One worn and will appear.
Elia Warden died in bed after a long illness. Services will be held Sunday at the local church with burial at May 11. Family mourns her loss. survivors include Mrs. George Root, Mrs. Effie Buell, Mrs. Lucy Cassel, and Mrs. Cora Trencoburs. Local notice references a separate case involving John near Civa, with charges and court action noted.
Mrs. J A Painter of Cleveland phoned police claiming an automobile accessory dealer drew money from a bank and was en route. Police could not locate him. Convention set for Seneca Falls, N Y, May 20 and 27 with support from President Harding. The draft would ban gender distinction in U S jurisdiction and grant equal duties and protections.

Steve Lesser was elected Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles last night. George Naul elected Worthy Vice President and A. BR. Gber named chaplain. Arthur Robin serves as secretary while L. W. Fillmore is treasurer. George Bryant on guard with J. B. Reininger also listed. Three years noted for William France and Dr. George French. lodge voted to donate a sum to a communist ground fund.
On Tuesday evening May 23 a citizenship class plans a public meeting to review papers. The committee in charge prepares for the event and seeks attendees and participants. Local organizers and speakers will provide guidance and updates on the citizenship process.
New York May 11 Ambassador George Harvey arrived in New York returning to the United States from a leave of absence in England. He said the leave was not permanent and that he came at his own request. He declined to discuss recall or retirement, noting most predecessors resigned or died. He mentioned plans to resume Harvey’s Weekly if a printer is hired and said he would visit Peacham and go fishing after Washington talks.

Friends of George W. Henson of 218 Harrison street learned he ended his life by hanging in the attic. Henson and Jay Henson, and sister Mrs. H.T. Bingham. Funeral Monday at 4:66 from the Harrison street home and private burial at Ridgelawn cemetery.
In Lausanne on May 11 Swiss national Alexander Conradi shot and killed M. Vorovsky, Russian observer at the Near East peace conference, in the hotel Cecil dining room. Brilkovsky and Ahrens were wounded. Conradi expressed vengeance against Russians and said he hoped to kill Tchitcherin, Moscow foreign affairs commissar, before his death. Police hunt a man described as a target of Ber.
Alleging deception in marriage Ray Doans of Weston files suit claiming Doane misled him and that his marriage was not valid. The filing cites false representations and seeks legal remedy in the divorce action.
Cincinnati May 11 a Baltimore and Ohio lineroader from Detroit crashed into the Fishher car killing Mrs Elizabeth Fishher 40 and her two sons Edward 13 and Richard 11. The father Joseph B Fisher 40 and three other sons Clarence 2 George 9 and Robert 8 were injured at General hospital.
May 11. Jono Fran kowich 15 of 2427 E 30th Street is in St Joseph's hospital unconscious after a yield of liquor. attendants and doctors have failed to arouse him. Two companions, one unnamed, one at home, may know where the liquor came from. Police seek source of the alcohol.
Albert Wilson, 14, is jailed on a charge of shooting Henry Glen, 34, with intent to kill. A woman, both allegedly intoxicated, were ordered from the home. Wilson fired, striking Glen in the abdomen. Authorities describe the incident as potentially fatal.
