Woman sentenced in death case in Lorain County
Lorain woman Michele Noble, 48, was sentenced to 22 years in prison after pleading guilty to amended counts of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault and a tampering with evidence charge in the 2016 stabbing death of 53 year old John Whitfield. The plea deal, agreed with prosecutors, followed consideration of Whitfield’s family and the evidence available. Whitfield was found dead at his West 23rd Street home with multiple stab wounds and had chronic health issues.

Basule Bridge Rehabilitation Starts Soon In Lorain
Lorain to begin major rehabilitation of the bascule bridge with one lane in each direction. Work by the Ohio Department of Transportation will run May through October with a $25 million budget, including painting, asphalt overlay, and mechanical repairs. The project extends into 2019 and requires bridge raises for river traffic coordinated with the Lorain Port Authority.
