Tax cuts loom in Senate talks on tax bill agenda
Washington report notes House approved a tax bill with deep cuts. It would reduce taxes 30 percent for incomes under 1000 dollars, 20 percent for 1000 to 1998, and 10 percent for higher brackets, with changes to timing. Senate labor and defense debates widen as Congress weighs companion bills and a possible Truman recommendation.
