State Bureau probes incident on North Ridgeville property
The State Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to a house on James Drive in North Ridgeville on Wednesday evening. Police blocked off the 4800 block with crime tape around the residence as officers declined to specify what occurred. Lorain County native Harlan Chapman dies at 89
Lorain County native Lt Col Harlan Page Chapman, a Vietnam POW for seven years, died Monday at his home in Green Valley Arizona. Born September 27, 1934 in Carlisle Township, he grew up in Lorain County, graduated Elyria High School in 1952, and Miami University in 1956. He served as a Marine fighter pilot, joining VMF-212 and Carrier Air Wing 16 aboard the USS Oriskany for Vietnam service. His wife Fran Chapman noted the POW experience and his Lorain upbringing as defining.
