Nursing home donor tops political giving in Ohio

A Carington Health Systems consultant and partner donors from nursing home groups gave at least 2.1 million to legislative candidates over four years. Roger King and Carington associates contributed 52,300, with Jan Husted receiving 46,000 in 2004. The industry and its fund backed Republicans as House leaders resisted curbs, while the chain spent over 1 million on management fees and faced quality concerns from a national firm.
