Elyria parks department to endure further budget cuts
Elyria plans another 500000 in city cuts with at least half from Parks and Recreation. The move may reduce programming to a single swimming pool at East Park Recreation Center and reallocate soccer volleyball softball and basketball around the city while keeping the North Sports Complex ice rink open and raising activity fees. Governor Grace said the aim is to let the parks department fund itself and avoid bigger cuts to Police and Fire.
